Cosmetic microbiology testing, done for you.

We run the enumeration counts and the specified-pathogen screens on your finished product, to the ISO methods and against the ISO 17516 limits, and deliver a certificate you can file. It confirms your product leaves production clean and free of the organisms that pose a risk to the user.

The result is a required input to your safety report. Read the full method in our microbiology testing guide.

What is included?

The total viable aerobic count (ISO 21149), yeast and mould count (ISO 16212), and screens for Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans, assessed against the category limits in ISO 17516. You receive a certificate of analysis reporting each method by its standard.

It is the fastest and least expensive of the three core tests, so it is rarely the bottleneck in a launch.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

It is quoted per product, because scope depends on the formula, and reports within a few working days of the lab receiving your sample. We scope your range and quote a fixed price before any work begins, with no open-ended lab bills.
